All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu claimed victory in Niger state after Saturday’s election.
According to the results of the Commissioner of the National Independent Electoral Commission (CINE) of the state, prof. Clement Alawa, Tinubu polled a total of 375,183 votes to win the state.
Alawa, the vice chancellor of Abuja University, made the announcement at the election results collection center in Minna.

declared a total of 2,667,866 registered voters, while the number of accredited voters was 827,416 and the number of votes cast was 813,355, with the number of votes rejected being 34,687.

Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) received 284,898 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labor Party received 80,452 votes, finishing second and third respectively.
Tinubu won 21 local government areas, Atiku won 3 councils and Obi won 1 local government.
After the publication of the official results by INEC, PDP State Commissioner Hon Idris Sani Kutigi rejected the result and refused to sign the result sheet on the grounds that no election result had been uploaded to the INEC voting portal.
