“Carding” Paige said rushing to him.

“Are you alright?” She asked worriedly, Carding groans in pain.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was you” Paige said helping stand on his feet.

“You almost killed me ealier Miss” Carding said still bearing the pains he was feeling.

“Sorry, But you shouldn’t have approach me behind by back” Paige said rubbing his back softly to suppress the pain.

“I didn’t know you were a gangster” Carding said and Paige smiles.

“What’re you doing here? Do you live close by? Paige asked.

“No I don’t, i’m just taking a walk, but how did you know my name was Carding? I never told you” Carding said.

“I may not be brilliant but am good when it comes to memorizing people’s name, the very first day we met, I overheard your dad call your name when he was scolding you… And I kinda like your name Carding” Paige said smiling.

Carding looks at her and smiles.

*She’s beautiful* He said inwardly admiring her face.

“Is there something on my face?” She asked.

“Huh?”

“You keep staring at me, is there something on face?” Paige asked looking at him.

“Of course not…. Why’re you here anyways?” Carding asked.

Paige looks at the hamburger stand and smiles.

“This brought me here, but unfortunately I don’t have the money to buy it… Chicago is really meant for the well-off, I mean how can only one hamburger cost hundred dollars” Paige said licking her lower lips as she look at the hamburgers as it’s being dished out.

Carding looks at her, before going to the vendor selling the hamburger.

“Three Hamburgers” He said.

And in no time, the hamburgers was done and packaged for him.

“Here you go Miss” Carding said giving the plastic bag to her.

“Is this for me?” Paige asked pointing at herself

“Yes, and if you want more, I can get it for you” Carding said smiling.

“Awwwn, I love you” She said and began munching the hamburger.

“Ummm… It taste so yummy” Paige said dancing with her head, Carding smiles.

“Thanks alot Carding, when I grow up am going to pay you back” She said and Carding laughs.

“When you grow up? Are you nine years old? Anyways you don’t have to Miss, is nothing”.

“Paige”

“Huh?”

“My name is Paige, You should have just ask for my name instead of calling me Miss.. My name is Paige Castillo AKA crazy noise maker” Paige said and Carding smiles.

“Your really a noise marker”

“I know right” Paige said and both laughs

After the laugh die down, Paige looks at him.

“Carding”

“Yes Paige”

“Have you heard about the popular school called Empire High?” She asked and Carding looks at her.

“Yes. Why?”

“I want to attend that school”

“You want to attend Empire High!” Carding asked, and he could feel his heart jumping for joy, If she gets to attend Empire High, he’ll always see her face everyday at school.

“Yes, But is a school for the rich and taking the scholarship exam is the only way for me to go to that school”.

“I can help you out” Carding said sharply and Paige looks at her.

“How?” Paige asked.

Carding smiles and takes her hand.

“Come with me” Carding said leaving with her, Paige smiles and willing followed him.

EMPIRE HIGH SCHOOL=CAD’S LOUNGE***

“Wow, Where’s this place?” Paige asked looking around the lounge.

“It belongs to I and my friend, we relax here after class” Carding replies admiring her beautiful face.

“After class?”

“Yes, I school here too”

“So this place is the popular Empire High? No wonder is so expensive” Paige said looking around.

She takes the dart and targeted it on the dartboard and she got it perfectly, and that made her smile, Carding also smiled as well.

“But what are we doing here?” She asked some minutes later.

*Should I tell her my dad owns this school? I guess not* Carding said inwardly.

“Carding?”

Carding looks at her and smiles.

“To lecture you” He said smiling.

“Huh? Lecture me?” Paige asked.

“Yes, I know most of the questions been asked during the scholarship exam”.

“Wow, So your intelligent” Paige said smiling.

“Yes I am” Carding replies.

He made her sit on the couch and Paige frowns seeing him bringing out some textbooks from the drawer.

“You hate studying”

“How did you know that?” Paige asked curiously looking at him and Carding smiles.

“Is obviously showing in your face… Empire High exams are the hardest exams one can come across with, that’s why at the end of the day only few students is lucky to pass”.

“You seem to know a lot about this school”.

“Just try solving this, is the simplest sum” Carding said giving her some questions to solve.

Paige reluctantly took it from and her eyes scans through the questions.

*How can he say is simple, I dunno even know how to begin* Paige said taking the pen Carding gave to her inside her mouth.

“Are you all right?” Carding asked.

Paige fakes a smile and began ticking any options that comes to her head.

“All done” She said some minutes later.

Carding looked at what she answered and back to her.

“What class are you in?” He asked.

“My final year in High School” Paige answers.

“Really? Your final year?”

“Yes, an art students in her final year in High School” Paige said.

“And you failed all the sums that a kid from elementary school can answer correctly”

“Book isn’t my thing, I have nothing in my head” Paige said demonstrating and Carding almost laughed crazily.

“Then how were you able to make it to your final year in highschool”.

“Through smart moves, am not smart, but am smart when it comes to spying from others, and I also cheat my way through in exams, that’s how have been able to pass…. Maybe I should also cheat during the scholarship exam too right?” She asked smiling and Carding hits her forehead with the pen he was holding.

“Ouch, What’s that for?” She asked with a pout and Carding smiles.

“You possibly can’t cheat your way through in Empire High”

“And why not?”

“Cos there’re CCTVS everywhere, that’s why students in Empire High always read to pass”

“That’s right, I forgot is the rich kids kinda school” Paige said.

“Come closer, I’ll teach you”

Paige snuggle closer to Carding.

“Now let’s begin with the simplest question” Carding said flipping through the pages of the textbook.

*He smells so nice, Guess his perfume is more costly their the entire houses in my neighborhood* Paige said inwardly inhaling Carding’s fragrance.

“What’re you doing?” He asked and Paige giggles shaking her head.

Carding began lecturing her, she was actually nodding her head and making an mmm sound, but her eyes was fixed on Carding’s face.

*His handsome* She said inwardly as she continues looking at his face, smiling.

SABRINA’S APARTMENT***

“The house feels like home without your Dad” Stacey said eating, Seth was already asleep.

“Stop eating and forcus on reading, is not easy to pass Empire High’s exams” Sabrina said sitting beside her.

“I know am surely gonna pass, cos I have the best tutor whose is no other person than Sabrina Bernardo” Stacey said and Sabrina smiles.

“That’s what you say last session and I was the only who pass the scholarship exam”.

“Now i’m more determined ask me why?” Stacey said and Sabrina rolled her eyes.

“Why?”

“Cos I finally have a definite reason to attend Empire High…. My crush” Stacey said smiling and Sabrina hits her head.

“Ouch” Stacey whines.

“I can’t believe my friend is going to school just to see a guy’s face”

“Not everyone is like you Sab, Yes I have my own problems to face, but that doesn’t mean I should swallow myself up in my problem, you only live once Sab, so enjoy life while it’s still being given to you”.

“No thanks… Let’s continue with the tutoring, if you fail this time around, am going to kill you” Sabrina said.

“We have been studying for ages… Let’s talk about something else” Stacey said smiling.

“Which is?”

“Starting from the anonymous Guy who helped you, I think his a guy from Empire High”

“And what makes you think so?” Sabrina asked.

“Haven’t you notice you started receiving anonymous help after you started attending Empire High, remember when you couldn’t afford your textbooks last session, didn’t you say you came to school the following day only to find the textbooks you needed on your desk”

“Yeah, that’s… True”

“And also you got another help when you couldn’t afford to pay for the groceries you wanted to buy, you abandoned it and left the grocery store, but all of a sudden the grocery shop owner called you back and gave you more than what you wanted to buy, saying someone already paid for it” Stacey said.

“So? That’s doesn’t mean he might be someone from my school, is can just be coincidence”

“Stop being half-witted Sab, everything in life is not often revolved around coincidence, am definitely sure is someone from Empire High”

“But who could he be? I don’t talk to anyone in school”.

“Maybe a secret admirer” Stacey said smiling.

“I doubt that”

“Why not Sab?”

“First of all, no one can fall for this face of mine, secondly am way out of his league and thirdly, his just waisting his time, cos am not ready to love anyone talk more of starting a relationship, I don’t even know what love means”

“How can you know what it means when you choose to separate yourself from the lively world”

“I have so many problems Stacey, No one will want to date the daughter of an excon whose nothing but a criminal, you already know what my dad is like right”

Stacey nods sadly.

“So do you possibly think any Guy who dates me won’t get it hot from him, his definitely going to kill him, that’s why I can never fall in love with anyone or date anyone cos am only going to endanger his life” Sabrina said sadly.

“Sorry Sab, let’s just continue with the tutoring, is more better than talking bullshits right?” Stacey asked, Sabrina looks at her and smiles.

THE WENDELL’S MANSION***

Carding was in his room, writing a lyrics song, he always does that during his leisure time.

He smiles as he keeps writing the lyrics of the song.

“I must be going crazy writing a song about her” Carding said smiling.

Odessa enters the room and he quickly covers the notepad.

“What’re you doing?” She asked smiling.

“Nothing Mom” He replies.

“Are you still mad at me?” Odessa asked.

“Even if I am, Will it changed anything? No right?” Carding asked looking at her.

Odessa sighs and sits beside him, he takes his hand and caress it softly.

“I hope you can understand me son, Your eighteen and sooner or later, your going to fall in love with someone and then your going to understand how am feeling right now”.

“But why him mom? Of all the men in the world, Why did you end up loving a man like Dad?”

Odessa smiles sadly.

“Just like how you can’t tell the sun to stop shinning, Is also the same way you can’t tell your heart who to love, We can’t decide for our hearts son, it’s always does what it’s wants” Odessa said.

Carding looks at her and sighs.

“I hope you understand me son, and also know that I love you very much Carding”

Carding smiles.

“I love you too Mom, and since Dad is still in Brazil, the mansion will be save for us to breathe in, without being scared” Carding said and Odessa smiles.

“What were you doing when I entered?” Odessa asked.

“Nothing Mom, just some random stuffs… Mom”

“Yes son”

“Whose in charge of this year’s scholarship intakes?” Carding asked.

“Why’re you suddenly asking about that?”

“I’m just curious”

“That’ll be your principal” Odessa answers.

“Then can you be in charge of it” Carding said and Odessa looks at him.

“Dad isn’t home at the moment, and since he hates you, he always put principle James in charge of the school.. And now that his not in Chicago for the meantime, you should be in charge of the new intakes” Carding said.

“And where this heading to?” Odessa asked.

“I just want to help a friend out”

“A friend?”

“Yes, she’s my friend and…

“Did you just say she?” Odessa asked with a flirting smiles.

“Don’t get it all wrong Mom, I want you to offer her the scholarship to be able to school in Empire High”

“That won’t be a problem if she passed the exam”

“That’s where the problems comes in, she’s smart, but she’s not smart in terms of studying, she’s zero when it comes to the term intelligence”

“So you want me to grant her the scholarship even if she fails?”

Carding nods.

“Isn’t that called cheating? And you know if peradventure she’s gets a scholarship into your school, she also needs to keep up with her grades so she won’t get rescinded right? If your dad finds out, is going to be a world war 3, Hope you know that?”

“I know that Mom, but am going to make sure she keeps up with a good grades, so that anyone won’t find out”

“Are you boasting with your brains now?” Odessa asked smiling.

“Mom!”

“Alright Fine, for your sake, I’ll be in charge of this year students intake, What’s her name”

“Paige. Paige Castillo” Carding said smiling.

“Alright son, I’ll seek to it my son’s girlfriend enters Empire High”

“Mom, she’s not my girlfriend”

“But you love her right?”

“I don’t know… Can you go back to your room?” Carding said feeling embarrassed, Odessa smiles.

“Alright son…. Goodnight” Odessa said standing up to her feet and pecks his cheek.

Carding smiles.

“You too Mom”

“And tell my daughter in-law I said Hi”

“Mom!!”

Odessa laughs and leaves his room.

Carding’s phone buzzed and he smiled when he sees it was a message from Paige, both already exchange numbers.

Carding opens the message and Paige’s picture appear on the screen.

She had hamburger sauce all over her lips.

WANNA JOIN ME?

Carding smiles and zooms the picture.

“She’s really a crazy girl” Carding said smiling, before replying to her message.

SOME DAYS LATER=AUSPICIOUS DAY***

“Good morning universe!!!!! Paige is finally taking the exam to Empire High!!!” Paige screams so loudly.

She was the only one at home since Helena and Greg has gone to their various working place.

“I know am a dullard, but I hope I pass, so I can teach that lizard some lessons, Queen of Empire High my foot” Paige said and a knock came on the door.

“Who could that be?” She asked and went to open the door.

“Hi Paige” The girl said smiling.

“Who’re you and how did you know my name?” Paige asked.

“My name is Desiree, I live upstairs, and you always screams each day saying your name is a Paige, that’s how I got to know your name” Desiree said smiling.

“Ok, so what are you doing here?”

“I’m also taking the scholarship exam to Empire High, So I was hoping we go together”.

“Oh I see, So your our neighbor’s daughter my mom talked about, but Why am I seeing your face now?” Paige asked.

“That’s because I was busy studying for the exams, I must say your so full of life Paige, Can we be friends?” Desiree asked smiling.

“Sure, But am really a noise maker, Can you put up with that?”

“I might be a bookworm, but I am one hell of a talker too, People often call me gossip Queen”.

“Really?”

“Yes, I know all the latest gist, What happens if a gossip Queen and a crazy Queen joins heads together? We’ll definitely rule Empire High”.

“High five” Paige said.

Both hits hands together and laughs

“Let’s go?” Desiree asked wrapping her arm around Paige and Paige nods smiling.

EMPIRE HIGHSCHOOL***

“We’re Finally here!!!!!” Desiree screams attracting students passing by.

“Whose the craziest of them all!!!!” Paige screams.

“Paige is the craziest of them all…. Whose the queen of gossip!!!!” Desiree screams.

“Desiree is the queen of gossip!!!” Paige screams.

👤 Are they crazy

Students asked one another as they look at Paige and Desiree.

“Yes we’re crazy, and don’t cross my path if you don’t want to see craze” Paige said fitstyling in a kung fu way.

“And I am also going to gossip your life” Desiree said fitstyling like a parrot.

Both laughs and hits hands together.

“The exam is starting in 30 minutes, we should get ready” Desiree said some minutes later.

“Is that so, then I can be able to see him before the exam starts”

“Who?” Desiree asked.

“I’ll be right back” Paige said and took to her heels.

She quickly enters the Cad’s Lounge and sees Carding sleeping in the couch.

She looks around.

“Isn’t it too early to be sleeping?” She asked and approach him.

She squats in front of him staring at his face and she smiles.

“His like a sleeping beauty” Paige said smiling, and her eyes fell on his pink lips.

“His lips is so s*xy” she said admiring his little pinkish lips.

“I wonder how his lips is going to taste, Should I give it a try?” She asked staring at his close eyes.

“Maybe I should” She muttered smiling, and began leaning closer to his lips, her lips were just an inch away from his lips, When Carding opens his eyes.

“What’re you doing?” He asked in a whisper, Paige gasps and slaps him so hard on the face.

“Ouch…. Paige!!!!”

“There’s a very big mosquito on your face” Paige rushly said.

“Mosquito?”
