“Emm …emmm…am sorry for what happened earlier,I was very angry that’s why I acted that way…. “please am sorry…I said kneeling down.
“Stand up Lucy,am not angry with you okay…..she said holding my hands.i just wanted to tell you that boarding school is actually the best and also is a mixed school……”
“Really???”
“Yes Lucy and you know you haven’t attend a mixed school once, so just grab this opportunity…”she said smiling…..
Sarah was right,I have never attend a mixed school once, so here comes the opportunity….”thank you miss Sarah,you are the best….”
“Okay baby girl,I will help you to pack you things.”

Lucy’s pov
Three hours later,we arrive at the school,to be honest the school was very huge and beautiful and the name was “Bright Future Ways”….. bright future ways indeed..I muttered.
“You love the school already?”My mum ask…
Immediately frown my face….”Mum it’s to early to say….”
“Hahaha..she laugh…okay princess.”
We arrive at the principal’s office,after some few questions…the principal ask me if am ready to write the common entrance examination.
“What”, I was suprise…..Mum you didn’t inform me that I will be writing an exam….I said angrily.
“Lucy behave” she said. Principal don’t worry,she’s ready to write the exam…
But mum….
No but Lucy,go and prepare for the exam.
I was speechless that moment,I no other option than to write the exam.One more thing…the principal said and I turn back.
Lucy Williams,the cut off mark is 50 and above,so make sure you…..I didn’t allow her to finish the statement before I cut in.
Don’t worry Ma,I will definitely pass the exam..
Wow,so brave,Mrs Williams I must admit that your daughter is amazing..
“Thank you” my mum reply her…
After we left the principal’s office,I ask my mum why she insist that I must go to this school.
It’s because I want the best for you Lucy…
Hmmm,if you say so…..
Well I bought you a cell phone.. she said
What for? I asked her.
Sily girl,so that when you need anything you can call us and don’t forget to call after the exam…my number is already saved.
Okay thanks mummy….I hug her.

After my mum left… everywhere was confusing to me…. I don’t like this school,I thought mixed school was the best. I said to myself,just then somebody tap my shoulder.
“Hey” he said as I turn back to see the person. “Hi” I reply nervously….
“Are you scared of me?” He asked.
What!!!! No and why should I???
Well the exam is about to start and you are still here,he said…
Emmm…..emmm…what about you,the exam is about to start…I said folding my arms.
No,am not writing the exam…he said moving close to me.
Why? I said moving back.
Because am not a new student.
Okay,I said walking away…
Not so fast pretty,that is not the way to the exam hall. He said pointing the direction.
Oh thank you.
And one more thing…
What?
Make sure you pass the exam…
And if I don’t?
Then you aren’t smart..he smirked
(I don’t need to explain anything to him…) Then let make a bet…I said with full confidence.
Wow…I like that… okay deal.
No problem…I said and walk away.

The exam was over,my only prayer was that I should fail because I don’t like the school and I wasn’t even prepared for the exam,but on the other hand I made a bet with that annoying boy… lucy you are so foolish. I said to myself….
After some time,the school bell rang and everybody rush to the school hall,well I also followed.
Thank you all for coming to this school,and a big thanks to those who got the chance to be in this school…we really appreciate your effort. Well two hundred people wrote this exam but we are going to choose only one hundred people….you all tried so it’s was very difficult to choose only hundred people,that is why we decided to change the cutoff Mark to 80 and above….we are sorry for the inconveniene.
Everybody started mumurring.
Oh Lucy,I don’t think you will get the chance to be in this school….wow such a good new and also a bad new….I said to myself.
“Silence” the principal said. Am going to call your names and also your scores so if you hear your name just step forward. After calling almost everybody’s names…she called number 98… Godfrey Anna…
I haven’t heard my name,my heart started beating fast…what if I fail…the annoying boy will laugh at me, but am not the only one that is going to fail right? But I made a deal with that annoying boy….oh my God,he is so annoying….I was still thinking when I heard my name…And the last person is Lucy Williams,she scored 80 points.
Oh my God…I passed,I said happily….Yes of course, congratulations Lucy…….
