CHAPTER 9

“Oh Eddie morning” Angela waved at Edward smiling.

“Hey you…what happened to your leg?” He pointed at her leg in Splint.

“Just sprained it…it's okay”

“Sprained? How? Why? Where and when?” Edward asked at once.

“Just…somehow”

“No wonder I felt uneasy…I knew this would happen. Why did you have to disappear into thin air if I were there this wouldn't have happened to you”

“Hey don't you know why a date is called a date? It should be between couples third wheels like you aren't needed” Angela said walking away while Edward scoffs.

“Third wheel? Me?”

LATER AT THE CAFETERIA.

“why isn't Angela here?”

“She's at the infirmary” Andrea answered eating.

“What? Is she hurt?” He stood immediately.

“Hey hey sit..nothing happened. She only went there to rest cause her leg hurt.”

“Then I'll go to her”

“Just eat…I already visited her and she said she just wanna rest. No one should disturb her…no one” Andrea finalized while Edward Sat reluctantly.

“Still…she would be hungry…” He mutters then sighs Mike coming with his food.

“You still have guts to eat? What exactly happened? Why did she get hurt? Why weren't you protecting her?”

“I'm not a superhero or God. If she gets hurt then that's her fate” Mike replied nonchalantly taking his sit.

“What? Her fate!”

“Just sit and eat your food Ed…don't create another trouble like yourself” Andrea said dragging him down to his sit.

“I'll deal with you later…” Edward mouths resuming to his food.

AT THE INFIRMARY.

“This is so uncomfortable” Angela murmurs as she rolled from one side to the other on the bed. Just then she heard the door opens and someone stepping in. Since she was the only one there she knew someone must have come for her.

“Not now Eddie I wanna rest” she mutters not looking at the person.

“Sleeping at home wasn't enough now you're sleeping in school?” She heard Mike's voice and leaped up immediately.

“Mikey!” Her face lightens up in smiles.

“Why are you here?” She asked as Mike took his sit beside her on the bed dropping a nylon on the desk.

“I'm sure I'm not here because I miss you” Mike said and she squeezed her face.

“Then you must be worried about me?” She chuckles.

“But what's that?” She pointed to the nylon and Mike brought out a cabbage from it.

“Oh! How do you know I'm hungry? You were indeed worried about me how considerate of you Mikey” she grins while Mike knocked her forehead.

“Ouch! What's that for?” She frowns.

“If you're hungry then go eat. I'm ain't your caretaker. Why will I bring food for you?”.

“You're my boyfriend it only right you do” she retaliated rubbing her forehead.

“We aren't like other couples”

“Psst”

“You're mean. Then why are you here?”

Mike took her injured leg and she winced.
He unwrapped the bandage.

“What're you doing?”.

“Wrapping with cabbage can relive joint pain. Arthritis inflammation and swelling…so this should help” he replied now wrapping her leg up with the cabbage.

“Really…wow…how did you know all that? Oww gently..”

“You're the only one who doesn't know”

“I disagree…I bet many people don't. You probably knew cause you're a genius”

“Nobody is born a genius..you work hard for it. You think it's easy studying?”

“It's still easy for you…people like me finds it beyond hard…you're just special”

“You talk too much” he flickered her forehead.

“Ouch! Why do you love hurting me?”

Mike smirks and lay her leg gently on the bed.

“But will I have to go to class like this?” She pointed to her cabbage wrapped leg.

“Why can't you?”

“Wow…you're really unfeeling. But don't worry even if I get insulted I'm gonna keep this on since my great boyfriend wrapped it on my leg himself. Thank you Mikey” she beamed.

“You should get some rest. This will help you recover fast get some rest paper will start soon”

“Are you leaving already?”

“Then you want me to sleep here with you?”

“Play with me a little more…I'm bored” she pulled his hand while Mike took a sandwich from the nylon with his free hand throwing it at her.

“Wow….you actually brought me food” she grins taking it.

“I'll enjoy your love for me Mikey..” She winks while Mike shook his head.

“I'll get going…rest” he said about standing up but Angela quickly held him back.

“Wha…”

Angela kissed his cheek cutting him short and make looks at her shocked and surprised.

“Thank you Mikey…” She grins while Mike comport himself standing up.

“I'm leaving” he said and went out. On opening the door he was met face to face with someone he never expected to meet there.

“Mr Kelvin….” He called.

DAYS LATER.

“Oh Angela you removed the cast?”

“Uh….surprisly it got better…”

“So are you completely healed now?” Andrea asked as she Angela dropped her bag.

“Not completely…is Mike not here yet?” Angela asked and Andrea shrugged.

“Don't know”

Angela sighs.

“I miss him…why is he hard to see nowadays?”

DURING BREAK.

“Mikey…” She grins.

“What do you want now?” He asked dryly.

“Why aren't you talking to me? You haven't been giving me face also” Angela accused and Mike sighs facing her.

“How long has it been that we've been dating?”

“Uh? Why? Ohhh” she faked a surprised face.

“You wanna celebrate our couple anniversary? Oww…Mikey…how thoughtful of you” she said poking his shoulder playfully.

“Just answer my question”

“Well…it's been two months now…time really flies doesn't it. Three months ago I was chasing you around and now we're even ending the term…Mike isn't this fab?”

“Let's end it now?”

“Uh?”

“It's been too months as you said. Isn't that enough? Haven't I done enough for you to keep mute about me?”

“What are you saying Mikey…?”

“You asked me to date me and I did. I kept the side of my promise for two months. Tell me isn't it time to let go? Or are you planning to continue this forever?” You should keep your own side of the promise too though I appreciate you've been for the past two months ”

“Mikey…what are you saying now?”.

“From now on…we're no more dating. You can go your way while I go mine okay? Let things return to how it were before you got in”

“I…I don't want to”

“What?”

“I don't wanna break up with you. Mike” she paused holding his hand. “I thought we've gotten more close than before…I thought we understand each other now? See even if you don't like me that way for now it's okay…I'll take that so just don't turn away from me”

“How nice…you're really cunning aren't you? Listen I don't care if you keep your side of the promise bow anymore…you can tell the world for all I care. One day it's bound to happen. The worst that can happen is me leaving this school” he whisk her hand away and turns leaving while Angela ran after him holding his hand again.

“Mikey what's wrong? You weren't like this before…did…did I do something wrong? Is that why you're doing this? Mike please tell me. Or…is it because I kissed your cheek? Is that why?”

Mike whipped her hand away yet again facing her.

“Do you know what I hate most about you except from being clumsy and stupid? You're also clingy. Just because I tutored you or go out with you don't get the wrong idea that I like you. Cause I hate the likes of you the most and I can never like you. Never!” He finalized before leaving while Angela runs after him.

“Mike…Mike ow!” She winced as she fell.

“Why…why now…?” Andrea who heard half part of what they said ran to her.

“Angela are you okay?” She asked concerned.

LATER.

“Angela my angel! I heard what happened are you OK?”

“How can she be when she broke up with her boyfriend?” Andrea asked.

“I expected that” Edward said scratching his hair.

“What?”

“Uh? Ohhh I mean…but why? Why did he do that?” Edward asked.

“I heard he was tired of her” Andrea paused and sighs.

“Poor Angela…what will she do now?” She sympathize looking at Angela who just laid her head on the desk.

“I…I have to speak with Mike”

“Angela I'm sure he doesn't wanna speak to you…he even changed seats”

“She's right…just forget about that nasty guy. You know there's this saying. ‘When the window closes, the door opens'”

“It's the other way. ‘When the door closes, the window opens” Andrea corrected.

“It makes no difference. What I'm saying is Angela there is always a way to every problems. Just forget about that jerk and come to me already. I'll make you know what love feels like. Nobody got you like I do”

“You're just speaking for yourself…I bet you're damn happy right now?”

“Of course I am…finally my Angel will be mine…that really feels so good”

“What a good thing to say Edward…it's really exhilarating” Andrea hits his shoulder.

DAYS LATER.

“Hey why did you do that earlier?” Edward poked Andrea's shoulder.

“What?”

“You blocked my view”

“Ohhh….I should have let the almighty Edward copied my work. Forgive me your majesty” Andrea bowed silently while Edward glared at her.

“Takes your books and read and stop being a nuisance to me and everyone else”

“You really know how to talk”

“You really know how to make me talk” Andrea retaliated.

“Angela my angel let's go home together…I'm gonna take you to a really delicious chocolate bar” Edward said and Angela who hasn't been saying anything nodded.

They all moved out of the class and just then they saw Mike going to the class.

Mike!” Angela ran to Mike who didn't answer and keep walking.

“Mike…” She held his hand on getting to him.

“we are having our last paper tomorrow…are you really not gonna talk to me?”

“Let go already” he gritted snapping his hand away from hers.

“Did I offend you? Why are you being so mean to me? You weren't like this before” Angela blurted out. Mike sights Mr Kelvin coming and face her with a changed expression.

“Do you really wanna know what you did wrong? You entering my life and turning it into something else”

“What?”

“You pester me to tutor you and I did. You forced me into dating you which I did. As if that's not enough you even made me associate with unruly rogues..don't you think you've done enough…I really detest it when you perturb me like this so can you just get outta my life”

“That jerk seriously…”

“Hold on Ed” Andrea held Edward back.

“You hate me?”

“You think I like you? Just become we become a little closer you think you've won the jackpot? Hey wake up and face reality… You're too lousy that it annoys mepeople like you doesn't even deserve me looking at you twice” he nudge her with his shoulder and leaves.

“He hates me…” Angela mutters to herself while Edward also leaves following Mike in anger.

IN THE CLASS.

“Get out! EVERYONE OUT THIS INSTANT!!” Edward yelled entering the class making the students flinched.

“CAN'T YOU ALL HEAR ME?!! I SAID OUT THIS INSTANT!!” now the students started trooping out some murmuring.
Edward marched angrily to Mike who was packing his stuff.

“You look scary…why? You gonna hit me?” Mike asked and Edward gave him a punch on his cheek.

Mike sneered.

“You think it's funny?”

“You're funny. You getting worked up cause of that lousy lout” Mike sneered and Edward locked his shirt.

“Don't you dare call her that?”

“Or what? You'll hit me again?” He snickers.

Edward rage increased and he made to punch him again but Mike was quick to do that first.

“Hey!…that hurts” Edward winced.

“Don't you dare hit me ever again because of something illogical alright?” Mike warned going out with his bag.

“That douchebag…he hits hard seriously…aish!”
