In a significant achievement, the Nollywood film titled ‘The Black Book’ has soared to the number one spot worldwide just five days after its premiere on the streaming giant Netflix.

Directed by Editi Effiong, this Nollywood masterpiece stars the seasoned actor Richard Mofe Damijo in a leading role.

Impressively, ‘The Black Book’ garnered a remarkable 5.6 million views and an astounding 11.6 million hours of viewing between September 18 and 24, as reported by Netflix’s data. This data was tracked and confirmed by Nairametrics through Flix Patrol, a platform offering comprehensive video-on-demand charts and global streaming ratings.

Netflix introduced ‘The Black Book’ to its audience on September 22, further highlighting Nollywood’s growing influence on the streaming service.

This action-packed adventure film delves into the story of a grief-stricken father seeking justice after his son falls victim to corrupt policemen. The 62-year-old Richard Mofe-Damijo delivers a compelling portrayal as the central character, Paul Edima.
