🌼 Isabella Harper 🌼

The hurt I felt when I walked in on Noah and Amelia hugging each other is huge. I feel so stupid right now, standing here and watching them with their arms still wrapped around each other.

“Isabella? When did you get in?” Noah asked, finally disengaging from Amelia. I lowered my head and bit my lip.

“I'm sorry, I should have knocked but the door was open and I thought I could just walk in” I said. Amelia rolled her eyes at me and walked out of the kitchen. I know she has never liked me, but trust me, the feeling is mutual.

“It's fine, so what do you want?” He asked.

“Um.. I saw on the news that Amelia's company now has a new owner, I had to come over to confirm since you work for her” I said and he sighed.

It was the first thing I saw when I switched on the television and I just had to come here and satisfy my curiosity and ended up getting hurt.

“It's a long story Isabella. You don't have to worry about it” he said, leading me out of the kitchen.

“Oh, I see. I'm really sorry for disturbing you, I'll just leave” I said, my eyes met with Amelia's again but she looked away.

“It's fine, you don't have to leave, you just got here” he said but I shook my head, moving towards the door.

“No I'll leave. I have to go to work anyway” I chuckled nervously and left in a hurry.

I'm so stupid!

How on earth did I even think Noah would love me? I should have known from the day one that he never wanted to be more than friends with me but I ignored the signs and continued falling for him.

How could I fall for him? Tears clouded my vision and I felt my heart shattering.

I got to my house and found Noah's mother on my porch. She had a few bags with her and I think she came to stay for a while.

“Aunt? What are you doing here?” I asked, hugging her.

“My dear, I came to visit! I decided to stop by and see you first before going over to stay with my son” she answered as I unlocked the door. I carried her bags inside and offered her water.

“But how did you know my address?” I asked.

“Your parents gave me address. I told them I wanted to see you” she smiled. I nodded. She watched me for a while and sighed.

“Are you okay? Why do you look sad? Is it Noah again?” She asked. I immediately broke into tears at the mention of Noah's name.

“Oh my! What happened?? Why are you crying?” She asked, worried.

“Noah.. he's in love with someone else” I sniffed, hugging her. She stroked my hair gently and let out a sigh.

“In love with someone else? Who on earth could that be?” She asked but I didn't answer her.

“Don't worry sweetheart, I'm going over to his house in the evening. Noah has to marry you, he can't be with any lady I don't approve of. He's my son and he'll do whatever I want” she assured and I nod, wiping off my tears.

Amelia is not even Noah's type! I don't know what he sees in her. She's a rude, arrogant and rich brat. He's a calm, loving city boy. They are not compatible at all. Noah is supposed to be mine.

I yelled at the guards at the gate to let me into the house. They refused and threatened to beat me up until Hugh came and told them to let me in. I glared at him before entering the house to meet Raymond. He has already possessed Amelia's house.

“Peter! Peter you wretched thief!! How could you deceive me like that!?” I shouted, walking up to him at the bar. He simply grinned and shook his head.

“You are a fool to come in here and talk rubbish to me” he said but I huffed.

“Why did you say you would help me when you were clearly going to stab me in the back?! And you even had your fun with my daughter! You're a beast!” I yelled even louder. I tried to pounce on him but the guards that surrounded us made their guns visible to me and I stepped back.

“I played you for the fool you are Raymond. There's one thing you need to understand while working for men of my caliber, never trust anyone” he said and laughed.

“Get your a$$ out of my house and never come back unless you'll face my wrath” he turned back to his glass of wine, leaving me shattered.

His guards led me out and locked the gate.

I feel like a total fool! I'm so helpless right now. I thought I was going to own everything but Peter went behind my back and took it all away from me. To top it all, my daughters now despise me. I've lost everything.

What do I do now? I don't even know where Amelia and the twins are. Where do I start from?

This is so f*cking frustrating!!

🌼 Noah Smith 🌼

Amelia kept her eyes on me, waiting to hear what I had to say. Isabella came and interrupted the moment and now everything is awkward.

I decided to ease the tension, I moved closer to her and took her hand, she bit her lip and looked down.

“You said you love me” I said and she blushed, avoiding eye contact with me.

“But you said you won't ever fall in love” I added and she sighed, looking up at me.

“That was until you almost died in my arms Noah. You have no idea how scared I was to think I was about to lose you. I realized how much you mean to me, I promise I will change and be a good girl, I just can't lose you” she continued to confess and I can't describe how happy I was hearing all that from her. I was just smiling.

“Amy” I called, squeezing her hand. I pulled her into a hug again and she squirmed in my arms.

“I love you so much Amelia. I've always known that was good in you” I said, hugging her tighter.

We stayed like that for minutes before breaking apart. I made breakfast for both of us but she hardly ate.

I pity her. So much is going on in her life and she probably doesn't know where to start from. First of all, she found out that she has powers and is a hybrid, secondly, all she owns now belongs to someone else and she has no idea how to get it back.

“Won't you eat?” I asked.

“I don't want to..” she sighed. I pushed away my food as well. How can I eat when she's not eating? I led her to the living room and we sat down.

“Okay now tell me, what are you going to do? Stand back and watch Peter get away with what he did?” I asked.

“I honestly don't know. Sueing him to court will take a lot of money because of how fragile this case is and I don't have that money anymore. I've been reduced to a pauper, what I've always dreaded!” She sighed deeply and fell back into the sofa.

“And you can't use your powers” I said.

“I don't know how to! Even if I could, what do you want me to do? Waltz in there, k!ll Peter and then what? The property is still in his name, killing him won't change anything” she said and I nod, actually seeing the point in what she said.

“What about Zack? You mentioned he has the power to compel people. Why can't he just compel Peter to sign back the papers to you” I said and she shook her head. She got up, looking very angry.

“Zack has his own problems to deal with. He went off to see his mother and hasn't come back, I'm sure there is a problem. We will have to tackle this on our own” she said fiercely.

I got up too.

“What are you saying then?”

“We will have to fight fire with water” she grinned.

That's the Amelia I know. I wonder where the sudden strength came from.

“What's gotten into you?” I asked, surprised.

“I'm just angry Noah. At Peter, at my uncle and I will make them pay for this” she answered and took my hand.

“Will you fight with me? Promise you'll fight with me” she said, staring at me with those dreamy eyes of hers. I caressed her hair and cheek, then kissed her forehead. I adore her so much.

“Yes, I will. I will do everything in my power to help you. I'll be with you to the end” I said and she breathed out.

“What's your plan?” I ask.

“Like I said, fight fire with water. We will show up on his doorstep and make him believe we will serve him, then strike him from inside, until he begs for mercy” she grinned and I couldn't help but be scared.

If I was Peter, I would be scared of her.

“Wow.. I can't wait to see what you have in store” I said and she giggled.

“Sulking is of no use since it won't solve the problem. I will have to take the bull by the horn” she said and sat down again.

“I'm getting excited. I can't wait” I said and she shook her head at my silliness.

“Amy” I called.

“Since we're in love with each other now, does that mean we are boyfriend and girlfriend?” I asked and she rolled her eyes.

“Calm down will you? Yes we're in love, but we have important issues to attend to. And I promise..” she paused and cupped my cheeks.

“As soon as we get out of this, I'm going to be all yours” she gave me a nose kiss.

“I love you so much” I whisper and she giggled.

“Let me go do the dishes” she sprang up and walked into the kitchen.

Wait what?

Amelia? Doing dishes? I guess she's really changed like she said.

A knock came on the door and I went to answer it. My jaw dropped as soon as I opened the door. My mother was standing there, with her bags, glaring at me.

“Mom? What are you doing here?” I asked. She pushed me aside and entered the house with her bags.

“So now I need to write a letter of permission before I can visit my son?” She retorted and I sighed.

“That's not what I meant mom, but you should have at least called” I said.

“Why? So you can hide your girlfriend? Noah, because of you, Isabella is hurt” she said sternly.

“Why is she hurt?” I asked.

“Are you going to pretend that you don't know what I'm talking about? You know too well that Isabella loves you a lot, yet you chose to break her heart by bringing your boss to stay here! Where is she anyways?!” She flared up.

“Mom you have to calm down. I know Isabella likes me, but I don't feel that way for her” I tried explaining calmly but she preferred to yell.

Amelia came out on hearing all the noise and my mom glared at her.

“Good morning ma'am. You must be Noah's mother” she greeted with a smile.

“Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You already have everything you need and can get any man, why do you choose my son? Why are you destroying his relationship?!” She barked at Amelia who looked stunned.

“Excuse me?” Amelia said.

“Mom that's enough! You don't know the situation so don't just assume things! Please just stop all this drama” I groaned.

“So now you're yelling at me because of her?” She scoffed and faced Amelia again.

“I want you to know one thing missy, I would never let my son be with a rich brat like you. He has a fiancee and you have to get that into your head and leave” she snapped and picked up her bags, heading towards her room..

“I'm so sorry about that Amy. Don't mind her, you know how mothers are. She likes Isabella a lot and..” I tried to explain, thinking that she was going to get mad but I was shocked to see her smiling at me.

“It's fine Noah. I understand, she does not like me. Many people don't like me and it's my fault. I guess I'm paying for what I did to people when I was rich” she chuckled.

“No Amy, don't talk like that”

“It's fine. Just go and try to calm her down and I will get back to doing the dishes” she blew me a kiss before walking away.

I was left awestruck.. was that Amelia or someone else?
