🌼 King Xakery 🌼

“You.. know?” She shivered, her big, cute eyes moping at me. I smile and caress her hair.

“Yes dear. It shouldn't surprise you. I'm a king in this magical world, I felt it when we were intimate but I didn't want to inform you because I thought you'd feel insecure about it” I answered and she bit her lip again.

“Oh.. won't it compromise anything?” She asked.

“Not really. You can have you womb back once you learn how to use your powers. You're a healer afterall, you have that power” I explained and she was surprised.

“I can really have it back?”

“Yes but it's not easy. That should be a topic for another day. Get some rest, tomorrow is a big day for you” I nod at her and leave the room quietly. I have to go and see Joha for any new information.

I entered Joha's chamber and met her meditating. I was thinking of leaving and coming back much later but she already felt my presence.

“Please, stay your majesty” she said before opening her eyes. I walked in.

“Welcome your majesty. What can I do for you tonight? You should be with your new wife” she said and I sighed.

“She's had a long day so I asked her to rest. Meanwhile, I came here to ask about the ritual. How much time do we have left?” I asked and she took hold of her staff, closed her eyes and hummed softly.

“Your majesty we do not have much time. You will have to train the queen as fast as possible because in the next few days, the plague will completely wipe out our people” she narrated and I rubbed my forehead. This is very bad, very very bad.

“On the day of the ritual, the chosen queen will hold up the staff of all ages and lift the plague. If anyone else lifts it, he will die and the plague will completely destroy everything” she stated again.

The staff of all ages is located in the center of the kingdom. It's the powerful staff and keeps the balance between good magic and evil magic. It was planted by our forefathers and only special people like Amelia can touch it. If everything goes well, the plague will be reversed and everything will be fine again.

“We are starting the training first thing tomorrow morning” I inform and she nods.

“Very well then. Get to it” she said and I left immediately. I have to rest, I'm so tired. I went to check on my mother first before going to bed. She's just lying there without any improvement, I'm so afraid that she will d!e.

The only thing keeping her alive is the talisman my father gave her before he passed on. If not that, she would be long gone.

🌼 Amelia Lewis 🌼

“Good morning your majesty” I woke up to Fae's beautiful smile. She was standing beside my bed. I rubbed my eyes and sat up on the bed.

“Good morning Fae” I greeted.

“My queen, the king ordered me to get you ready for today's training” she said and I nod. I got out of the bed and stretched myself. It's so early in the morning, the sun isn't up yet.

“I've run you a warm bath with milk and roses. Do you want to take the bath alone or should I bring maids to bathe you?” She asked with the smile never leaving her face.

“I think I'll take the bath by myself” I said, yawning and walking into the bathroom.

Wow, a bath with milk and roses. This is special treatment. I got rid of my clothes and entered the pear shaped bathtub.

“Ahhh” I sighed, allowing the warm water to penetrate my skin. I relaxed and closed my eyes. My mind once again diverted to Noah. He must have taken over the office by now, I hope he does not have any problems handling the business.

I miss him so much. I can still recall the last night we spent together. One of the best nights of my life.

I sighed and started scrubbing myself with the extremely gently sponge that was kept for me. After bathing, I wrapped myself with a towel and and came out of the bathroom.

Fae was already waiting for me with a stunning warrior outfit. I can't describe it but it was stunning. She made me sit down then applied a scented oils on my skin, my skin was glowing after that. Then she helped me get into the outfit and packed my hair in a ponytail. Awesome.

“You're ready to meet the king” she said. I nod and follow her out. We went downstairs, passed a large hallway with the guards all bowing as I passed. Then we arrived at a beautiful courtyard. It was very large, with flower gardens and a fountain.

Zack was wearing his own warrior outfit and was talking to Cullen when we got there.

“Your majesty” I attempted a curtsie but failed. Fae giggled. Zack smiled and pecked my cheek.

“Hope you slept well?” He asked and I nod.

“Good”

“Your majesty” Cullen bowed. I nod at him.

“Alright. Let's start immediately. Fae, you may stay in case the queen needs anything” Zack said and Fae bowed. She went to stand near the balcony with Cullen while Zack and I stood there.

“Now, we're going to work on feeling your powers” he said. He slowly walked over to stand behind me. He spread out my hands.

“Close your eyes and try to connect. Just try to feel your powers inside you and tell me what you feel” he said. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I tried to let go of all thoughts and concentrate.

We did that for more than an hour before I finally got to feel a power surge inside me. It was like an electricity shock.

“You felt it right? To gain complete control over your powers, you need concentration just as we practiced. If you don't, the power surge from the staff of all ages might kill you” he said and I gulped.

Okay, this isn't going to be as easy as I thought.

🌼 Noah Smith 🌼

I called a meeting when I got to the office, inviting the directors and high ranked employees. I briefed them about the new principles and rules that they would be following since I'm in charge, and I also fired some employees who have always been lazy in their jobs. They were all surprised that I am the new boss, even the media came and witnessed it themselves.

“Boss” Taylor said, entering my office after the meeting.

“You sent for me” she added and I nod.

“Yes. I just fired some people now which you witnessed. I want you to make an ad online about the vacancies and get back to me with how many people are interested. You'll only give me list of competent and qualified people, not some riff raffs who can't handle a thing. Understood?” I explained and she nodded.

“Yes sir” she said.

“Oh and Taylor? We're friends, no need to be so stiff around me” I smiled and she smiled back.

“Thank you boss. I'll get back to you” she said and left the office.

I got up and walked to the window. Since I'm now the boss, I have to make sure that my employees don't see me as anything less. Too much rubbing of elbows can make them forget who is in charge and slack in their duties and I can't afford that.

Amelia built this empire with a lot of standard and it's my promise to her to maintain that high standard. That's why I'm being kind of mean even though it's not my character.

I looked at the couch near the door and sighed. I remember the day Amelia fainted and I had to revive her on that very couch. I miss her so much. Everything just reminds me of her here. It's so overwhelming.

Just when she told me that she loved me, just when our love started to blossom, she was taken away from me.

My phone rang in my pocket, jolting me from my thoughts. I pulled it out to look at the caller. It was Audrey.

“Hello? Audrey?”

“Hi Noah! How are you?” She asked.

“I'm very well. I hope there's no problem?”

“None at all. Um.. Jackson and I just finalized on our wedding date and I wanted to give you a special invitation. It's three weeks from now” she giggled.

“Wow. Congratulations Audrey. I'm happy for you. At least you ended up with the person you love” I sighed.

“Aww. Calm down Noah, I understand how you feel but everything happens for a reason. You're going to be fine” she said, trying to console me but nothing will work. I'm going to keep missing Amelia till I die.

“It's fine. I'll come over and congratulate you in person” I said.

“Thank you. Goodbye” she ended the call and I sighed again. I went back to my chair and sat down, placing my head on the desk.

🌼 Isabella Harper 🌼

“Isabella! Isabella!!” I heard Noah's mom calling me but I didn't answer her. I was in my room sobbing. I'm so tired of all this. Noah does not even notice me, he's even worse now than when Amelia was here.

He's always inside his room, he barely talks to anyone especially me. He doesn't even act like I'm here. I feel foolish for staying in this house. I think it's high time I leave.

“Isabella” she opened my room door and saw me sulking on the bed.

“Issa. I've been calling you, didn't you hear me?” She asked, coming closer. I sniffed and looked up at her.

“I'm tired aunt. I am thinking of leaving. I can't stay here and allow Noah to keep walking over me. He doesn't like me and will never like me. I'm playing with my own feelings and I hate it” I complained painfully and she winced.

“Oh my dear child. I understand how you feel and I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't notice how pained you are. You just have to give him time, he's still hurting” she said and I scoffed.

“How much time do I give him? I'm tired of it already. If he's not ready to let go of Amelia then I'm not going to sit here and wait for him” I snapped.

“Please Isabella. You're the only one who can help him heal. Don't give up so easily. Noah needs you, he just hasn't realized it yet. Please forgive him and try one more time, if he pushes you away, then I won't ask you to stay here any longer” she said and I sighed.

“Fine, just one more time” I said and she smiled. She hugged me and invited me to have dinner after which I waited for Noah to come back.

….

Two hours later, Noah came home. He walked past me in the living room without greeting me and went to his room. I bit my lip painfully.

“Just take this oil and go to his room. Give him a massage” Noah's mom said, coming out from the kitchen with a small bowl containing oil.

I took it and waited a few minutes before going to Noah's room. He was just getting out of the shower when I got there.

“What are you doing here?” He asked.

“I know you don't want to see me here. I know you're not interested in me but hat won't stop me from loving you. I can see you are stressed out, I would like to give you a whole body massage” I said, looking down at my feet.

“Hmm. Don't worry about that” he stated.

“Please, I insist” I said and he sighed.

“I guess it wouldn't hurt” he said and got on his bed. His bare back was exposed to me and I got on top of him. I applied the oil slowly on his back and gently pressed his back. He sighed out as I massaged him.

“I wish you'd give me a chance” I mumbled.

“We'll see how it goes” he answered.
