SOME DAYS LATER= DELOITTE CONGLOMERATE***

“I finally found a good saloon for you Nina” Greg said talking to Nina on the phone smiling.

“Really?”

“Yes, just a little touch up and is done” Greg said.

“Aww thanks some much Greg, I really appreciate” Nina said.

“You don’t have to thank me. Seeing you happy is what I live for. So when will you be coming back, I’ve missed you like crazy”.

“Pretty soon Greg. And I miss you so much too” Nina said and Greg smiles.

“I’ll talk to you later Greg, I’m kind of busy… I love you” She said and ended the call.

Greg sighs pocketing his phone. “She’s taking so long to come back” He muttered and he sees Velvet coming out from her office.

He wanted to avoid her, but Velvet saw him before he could leave.

“Greg”

Greg press his lips against each other before turning to look at her.

“Good afternoon ma’am” He greeted.

“Where you trying to avoid me?” Velvet asked.

“No ma’am, I remember I had something to do that’s why I wanted to leave” Greg said.

“If that the case you should go ahead then” Velvet said smiling at him.

Greg nods and turns to leave, he hasn’t walked far when he heard a sound, he turns behind him and sees Velvet lying unconscious on the floor.

“Ma’am!” He said rushing to where Velvet was.

HOSPITAL***

“Why’re you starving yourself?” The doctor asked Velvet when she woke up, Greg was there with her.

“You look rich, which means money isn’t the problem, so why’re you starving yourself Miss velvet?” The doctor asked again.

“That’s because I don’t always have the time to cook a proper meal. I’ve a lot of piled up files, which I always need to sort out” Velvet said.

“Being hardworking in terms of your job is good, but don’t joke with your life Miss Velvet” The doctor said and Velvet nods.

“Will she be okay?” Greg asked and Velvet looks at him.

“Yes she will. She just needs to eat a proper meal and rest” The doctor said.

“Alright Dr. I’ll keep that in mind” Greg said and the doctor leaves.

“You should go home and rest Ma’am” Greg said.

“I don’t need rest Greg, I’m okay”.

“No you’re not, your not the only one working for Vince Wendell, so why are you stressing yourself so much?” Greg asked.

“That’s because I worked so hard to get my position, I can’t be query for being lazy”.

“Only a breathing human being gets to work and keep her position”.

“But….”

“Just wait here ma’am, I will go get your car from the company”

“You know how to drive?”

“Simply because I don’t own a car, doesn’t mean I can’t drive. Where’s your car key?”.

“In my office”.

“I’ll be back” He said and leaves.

“He’s so nice” Velvet muttered and smiles.

VELVET’S APARTMENT***

Greg helped Velvet to lie down on the bed and he couldn’t help but admire how beautiful her house is. It was beautiful and well lavished with money.

*Someday I’m going to afford an apartment like this for I and Nina* Greg said inwardly smiling.

“Thanks for bringing me home Greg” Velvet said. Greg looks at her and smiles.

“Are you hungry? I’ll prepare something for you”.

“You can cook?”

“Of course I can. So what do you want to eat, I can prepare any kind of meals”.

“Including Taiwan dishes”

“Taiwan?”

“Yes. I’m Taiwanese, and ever since I began working and living in Chicago, I haven’t eaten Taiwan homemade meal”

“What kind of homemade meal?” Greg asked.

“Taiwanese spicy beef noodle soup” Velvet said salivating already, Greg smiles.

“Is that what you wanna eat” He asked and Velvet nods her head like a baby.

“Alright, I’ll prepare it for you” Greg said.

“You can?”

“Yes. My Aunt is from Taiwan, so is a given. Where’s your kitchen, left or right?”

“Left” Velvet answers smiling and Greg leaves.

In no time, he was done cooking and he dished it out for Velvet.

“Is so yummy. Thanks a lot Greg” Velvet said smiling.

“Your welcome ma’am”

“Just call me Velvet”

“Huh?”

“We’re friends right? So just call me Velvet”

“I can’t do that, your of a higher position than I’m. I am just a janitor while your the directing manager of Vince Wendell’s company”.

“Then call me Velvet anytime we’re together. Outside the company I’m not your boss, so just call me by my name anytime we’re not at work, ok?” Velvet said smiling.

Greg smiles lightly. “Okay Ve… Velvet”

“Yeah, call me Velvet” Velvet said cutely and Greg smiles. He got a text message from the interior designer in charge of decorating Nina’s saloon.

“I have to go Velvet, there’s something I need to check on”.

“Alright Greg. Thanks for being of help”.

Greg smiles lightly and leaves. Velvet eats and smiles.

“He sure knows how to cook. Wait, does he love me? Is that why he’s being so nice to me?” Velvet said and squeals happily.

EMPIRE HIGH***

Dylan enters the class and almost bumped into Desiree.

“Are you all right?” He asked.

“Yes I’m fine” She said and was about leaving, but she stopped and face him. “Dylan” She said and Dylan looks at her.

“The kiss that happened between us is nothing, okay? It was just a mistake, you shouldn’t take it to heart”.

Dylan smiles.

“Why? You think I like you?” Dylan asked.

“Well I don’t know if you like me, but I like someone else”.

“I don’t like you Desiree. I was just teasing you during our outing together, because you were the only one without a boyfriend, and the kiss… Is nothing” Dylan said.

“That’s a relief then. And beside your engaged to Barney”.

“But that doesn’t mean I like her”.

“Then are you going to spend the rest of your life with someone you don’t like?”.

Dylan looks at her and smiles.

“Of course not Desiree. The only thing I can allow my parents to control me on, is going for med school”.

“Meaning?”

“I know I’m afraid of my Parents, but I’m only accepting to be Barney’s fiance because I haven’t seen the girl I like”.

“What’s your kind of girl?”

“I don’t know. Guess my heart is really made of stone” Dylan said and Desiree smiles.

“I use to say that before, but here I’m having feelings for my childhood friend. As long as your a Human, you can’t escape love”.

“Then maybe I’m a vampire” Dylan said and Desiree laugh.

“I think your a vampire, maybe that’s why your so white skinned”

And both laugh.

Barney sees them together and anger rage inside of her. Without thinking, she went to where Desiree was and slaps her.

“How dare you flirt with my fiance!!!” Barney yells.

“Did you just slap me?”

“Yes I did and I’m going to……”

Barney was cut short by a thunderous slap from Desiree, she didn’t wait for Barney to recover from the slap, when she slaps her again. Barney falls to the floor.

“How dare you slap me!!!!” Barney screams.

“Talk again, and I’ll give you a slap that we turn your face to the back. And FYI, I’m not flirting with your fiance and I have better things to do” Desiree said and walks away.

Dylan without saying a word to Barney tries to leave, but Barney blocked him.

“You aren’t going to do anything”

“Do what?”

“That girl slap me, and your just going to let it slide”.

“You slapped her first, right? So she made you taste the bitter taste of your own medicine”.

“Dylan why’re you doing this to me? You have never laugh and talk to me, but your always talking and laughing with other girls. I’m your fiancee for crying out loud, so why can’t you be nice to me”.

“Isn’t it obvious to you already? I don’t love you Barney. I’m just being forced to be engaged to you” Dylan said.

“But I love you Dylan, l love you so much” Barney said with tears dropping down her eyes.

“I can’t bring myself to love you Barney. Your just too difficult for me to love. I have tried so many times but this heart of mine can’t love you. If you choose to get married to me, you will be the one to suffer it Barney, Cuz you will never be happy with me” Dylan said and walks away.

Barney falls to the floor crying her eyes out

RESTAURANT***

“Your rapping part is cool with me” Carding said.

He and Ashely were already done creating a song and they were rehearsing for the audition.

“I was born to be a rapper” Ashely said with a smile.

“Yeah you were. I hope we pass. That way I’ll be able to give my mom and Paige a good life” Carding said.

“Where you born poor? To me you don’t look like a poor kid. Your skin is glittering and soft too, like that of a rich kid”.

“Is a long story Ashley and is something I don’t want to talk about”.

“I understand” Ashely said.

Paige enters the restaurant looking cheerful as always.

“Carding” She calls excitedly. Carding smiles and hugs her.

“Ashely I got this for you” Paige said smiling as she gave Ashely a charm bracelet.

“This is for me?” Ashely asked taking it from her, and Paige nods smiling.

“Yes is for you Ashely to wish you good luck on the audition. I also want you to become a famous rapper too, just like how I want Carding to become a famous soloist” Paige said smiling.

Ashely looks at the charm bracelet and then to Paige.

“Thanks Paige” Ashely said.

“Is nothing Ashely”.

“I’ll just use the restroom” Carding said. He kissed Paige lightly before leaving, Paige keeps looking at him as he leaves smiling.

“You must really love hiy, right? Ashely asked. Paige looks at her and nods her head.”

“Yes I do”

“I guess I should give up then”

“Huh?”

“I won’t lie to you Paige. I love Carding, but I don’t want to fight a lost battle. He’s too engrossed with you, to notice me, your a nice girl Paige and he deserved to be with someone like you”.

Paige smiles lightly.

“I understand if you won’t be comfortable with me being with Carding, since you know I like him”.

“Of course not. I trust Carding. He loves me a lot, I’m the only girl he’ll always look at”

“Are you showing off now”

“And what if I’m” Paige said flaunting her hair and both laugh.

“Carding is all yours Paige. I don’t want you to break my head”.

Paige looks at her.

“Don’t give me that look, your boyfriend told me your crazy and will break my head if I go close to him”.

“He wasn’t lying about that. I’m Paige the queen of craziness”.

“Should I get you a crown then?” Ashely asked and both of them laugh.

THE CROMWELL’S MANSION***

Mr. Cromwell use his walking stick to hit Dylan so hard in the back and Dylan falls to the ground wincing.

“Your a worthless child Dylan!!!. Why did you hurt Barney!!!” His Mom yells at him.

“I only told her the truth Mom. You both forced me into an engagement I never wanted in the first place. Why can’t you both understand that I don’t love Barney!”

“And what do you know about love? You know nothing about it Dylan. We won’t allow you to ruin our plans, weather you love her or not, your still going to end up with her” Mr. Cromwell said.

“Did your late parents forced you both to get married?”

“What?” Mr and Mrs Cromwell muttered.

“I guess they didn’t, right? You both got married to your own accord and because you both love each other. So why can’t the same thing be applied to me. I know is all my fault why your precious son had to die, but maybe you both have forgotten that I’m your son too!!!” Dylan yells as tears falls down his eyes.

“Stop ranting bullshit Dylan, Cuz is not going to work on us. For your own good, better apologize to Barney and forcus on the exam into med school” Mrs. Cromwell

“I see you both just care about your hospital and being rich. A lot is going on with me, but you both are just to blind to notice. I wish you were never my parents” Dylan said and leaves the house.

“Dylan!! Dylan!!! Come back here!!!” Mr and Mrs Cromwell yells, but Dylan didn’t halt.

Dylan sighs standing at the cliff of the bridge, as the waves from the bridge blow his hair. There was tears in his eyes, and his brain was hurting slightly. The pains was like an electric switch. It goes on and off.

“I hate my life” He muttered.

“Hey!!! Are you crazy!!!”

Dylan turns to look at the voice that yells and sees a girl looking at him with a face filled with fear.

She hurriedly went to him and pulls him down from the cliff of the bridge.

“Are you a moron? Killing yourself won’t solve anything!!!” The girl yells at him.

“I wasn’t planning on dying” Dylan said.

“Then why were you standing so close to the bridge?” The girl asked again.

“I was just clearing my head off the things that was bothering me” Dylan said and she heaves.

“That’s a relief then, I thought you wanted to die”.

“The last time I tried commiting suicide, someone precious to me died and it taught me a great lesson”.

“Dying doesn’t solve anything. You just have to keep living, hoping that the people around you will change” She said. Dylan looks at her and smiles.

“Anyways I’m Rose, I just recently came back to Chicago. I spent almost all my life in Switzerland” Rose said with a smile, looking so cute.

“I’m Dylan, born and brought up here in Chicago” Dylan said and Rose gasps.

“Exactly what I’m looking for” Rose said and quickly cuddle her arm on his, Dylan looks at her with a puzzle face.

“I heard Chicago is best known for having a fabulous park known as Millennium Park. Since you were born in Chicago, you might know the park, right? I have no idea where is located”.

“I do”.

“Really? Then take me there” Rose said cutely.

“I wish I can, but I didn’t bring my car”

“Zero worries about that, Cuz my car is over there” Rose said pointing at her car.

“Let’s go” She said taking his hand, and made Dylan enter the car.

“So which way, right or left?” She asked cutely. Dylan chuckles admiring her cuteness.

“Right” Dylan said.

“And right we go” Rose said before starting the car, humming on the music she was playing.

“Are you six years ago? Barbie song? Really?” Dylan asked.

“That’s because I’m a baby” Rose said, and continues humming the song driving.

Dylan smiles.

SAME DAY=SOMEWHERE IN CHICAGO***

“The house looks okay to me. I love it” Carding said to the landlord after he checked out the house.

“I’m glad you like it. When will you be moving in” He asked.

“Pretty soon. Probably when my mom wakes up from coma. Is it okay with you if I pay in instalment.

“Sure Carding. Your still a high school student, so your wish is granted”.

“Thanks a lot sir” Carding said smiling.

He got a call from the hospital and he quickly pick it.

“Hello Doctor, How’s my mom?” Carding asked.

“Great news Carding, your mom is finally awake” The doctor said and Carding smiles widely.

“Really? My mom is awake? Alright Doctor, I will be there in a jiffy” Carding said and excitedly ended the call.

“I’m be back Sir, I just got a call from the hospital that my mom has woken up from coma” Carding said and rushed out from the house.

In no time, he arrived in the hospital, and got inquiries about the ward his mom was in.

“Mom!!” He screams out hugging her so tightly.

“I missed you so much Mom. Thank you for waking up, thank you so much” Carding said still hugging her.

Odessa smiles and broke the hug.

“How have my son been doing?”

“I’m fine mom. I’ve been staying with Paige since you fell into coma” Carding said smiling.

“Why son?”

“I left dad’s mansion. And I have been working hard lately to get us a house, is not that big, but it can contain the both of us. I only need to buy a few things to…..”

“Carding” Odessa said cutting him short.

“Yes mom. Do you need anything? Should I call the doctor?”

“No don’t, I’m fine. Carding, I want to go back home to be with your Dad”

Carding’s jaw dropped in disappointment.
