EPISODE 35 & 36

🌼 Raymond Lewis 🌼

I met up with Hugh to discuss his next line of action since he has managed to get employed by Amelia. The plan was to secretly strip Amelia of everything she has and I can't wait.

“So what's the next step?” I asked.

“We don't have to waste time, we should just get into it. You see, the more time we waste, the more chance we will be giving to Amelia to figure out that something is wrong” he said and I nod.

“Alright then. What are you planning to do?” I asked again.

“I have already prepared some paperwork, a lawyer helped me and it states that everything that Amelia owns will belong to you” he said.

“All I need now is Amelia's signature and her personal assistant too” he added.

“Can I see the papers and go through it?” I demanded.

“I would have given it to you, but I don't have it here. But I took some pictures of it on my phone” he answered and brought out his phone. He went through it until he found the pictures then he handed it to me.

“Can you see it? That's your name, phone number and other details. All Amelia has to do is sign them and everything will be yours” he explained as I nodded. I gave him back his phone and stroked my chin.

“Won't Amelia want to go through the document? How will you get her to sign it without reading?” I asked.

“Leave that to me sir. I should get going now. I have work to do. Good day” he tilts his head forward as a sign of respect before leaving.

I'm so happy!! In no time I will possess what belongs to me. I can't wait to kick Amelia out and watch her struggle to survive on the streets! It'll be totally worth it. That girl doesn't deserve all the money she owns, she's not even my brother's daughter. I am sure her mother conceived her from another man.

I warned my brother not to marry Xarrisa, even her name is weird, she doesn't behave like a human being. I was always sure she's different and so is her daughter Amelia. Now, I will get what should have been mine in the first place.

🌼 Amelia Lewis 🌼

“Good morning boss” Noah beamed, entering my office with two cups of coffee in his hands. He dropped one on my desk and sipped the other one.

I have been getting very attracted to him lately. I have been trying to fight the possibilities of falling in love but I can't.. I just can't.

“Take your coffee” he urged as I took a sip.

“I hope you're feeling better today?” He asked and I nod.

“Yes, I'm okay” I answered.

“Gosh, I have a ton of work to do today. So many paperwork to fill out and sort. I'll be thankful if I don't pass out today” I sighed, pushing the coffee aside and turning on my computer.

“I'm so sorry about all the work. I don't have too much to do today, maybe I can help you out” he shrugged, walking over to me. He stared at my computer screen and then at me.

My eyes landed on his lips and I remembered that we almost kissed last night. Oh gosh, I wanted to kiss him badly, but we were interrupted. I watched him move his hand on my mouse while his eyes were still on me.

“Why are you staring at me?” I asked, my cheeks already heating up. I have no idea that I'm this shy.

“Forgive me for staring but how could I not? When you look so stunning today” he said and I couldn't help but smile.

Such a flirt.

“Stop flattering me, it won't make me fall in love with you” I snapped and he chuckled.

“I am just telling you the truth Amy. You're gorgeous” he said and I blushed again.

“Thank you” I mutter and turn to the computer.

“We should get to work” I said and he nodded. He brought a chair and sat beside me and we immediately started working.

We played around a lot and that eased the tension of the work. We were halfway through the work when a knock came on my door.

“Come in” I ordered and Hugh walked into the office, carrying some documents.

Noah scoffed and glared at him. I wonder why he doesn't like Hugh.

“Good morning ma'am. I have some documents for you to sign” Hugh said.

“What documents?”

“Taylor has signed them already. It's documents to the funding of the new project of our branch in Washington” he explained.

“Let me have it” I took the documents and opened it. I read through the first and second pages, it clearly stated what he just said so I took a pen and signed in the places I was shown. Then I gave him back the documents.

“Thank you ma'am” he smiled and nodded at Noah before leaving.

“Why do you hate him?” I asked.

“I'm not sure. But I don't trust him at all. I will investigate him, just wait and see” Noah replied and I shook my head.

“Suit yourself” I said and focused on the computer again.

…

Another successful workday has come to an end. I was packing up when Noah entered, ready to go home.

“Hey” I greeted.

“Thanks for helping me out today. I owe you one” I said.

“I know a good way you can pay me back” he said, taking slow steps over to where I was standing.

He stood in front of me and snuck his hand around my waist.

“Hey!” I tried to push him off but he was stronger and held me in place. He placed the other hand on my cheek and caressed it.

“I don't know how it happened, but I suddenly can't control myself anymore” he said, loosing his grip on me while I stopped struggling. I stood there, allowing him to touch me.

“What.. do you mean?” I asked.

“Amy, I love you” his words came like a bomb, shocking me.

I couldn't move for a few seconds, I just blinked at him and wondered why he would even love someone like me. Oh no, he's way too good for me, I'll only end up ruining his life.

“You can't love me” I stated, getting emotional.

“Says who?” He asks.

“You just can't love me Noah. You deserve better”

“But you're the one I want Amelia” he insisted.

I sighed. Without any warning, he crashed his lips on mine, nibbling on it and giving me chills. I fought the urge to kiss back but I couldn't stop myself. I shamelessly wrapped my arms around him and kissed him, our tongues fought into each other's mouths and we were left panting from the intense kiss.

“F*ck! No..” I said, gently pushing him away.

“I can't do this.. Noah, you're a good guy, I'm not. You don't deserve me” I almost cried.

“But Any..” he tried coming close again but I shunned him and left in a hurry.

Tears rolled down my eyes as I entered the car. My driver asked what was wrong with me but I told him it was nothing.

I can't let Noah ruin his own life by being with me. I don't have a womb, I'm wayward and I reckless. I suddenly lost all confidence in myself.

I went home and took a warm bath, after which I came down to the living room to watch some TV. My uncle and Lisa have not been in talking terms since my uncle took Linda away. I really don't know which to do first, look for Linda or continue with the tin of work I still have. I'm so stressed.

The doorbell rang and I went to answer it, hoping it's not Noah, I don't want to get emotional again.

I opened the door and my jaw dropped.

“Audrey?”

“Hi” she said and let herself in.

What's she doing here?

“What do you want?” I asked, closing the door and joining her in the living room.

“Don't even think for a second that I came here to apologise to you. I only came because your boyfriend wanted us to make peace. He insisted” she rolled her eyes and sat on my couch.

“Boyfriend? You mean Noah? He's not my boyfriend” I answered.

“Whatever. So, I need juice” she ordered as if she was in a restaurant. I rolled my eyes and went to get her the juice. I poured it in a glass and served her. She sipped it slowly, her eyes glued to the TV.

“Aren't you going to say anything?” I asked.

“Wait, are you expecting me to? If that's the case then I'm leaving” she snapped and sipped her juice.

Well, everything that happened was my fault. Honestly I miss my best friend, but I'm not used to apologising. I might as well just try.

“Audrey” I called.

“What!?” She snapped at me, glaring.

“Look, you know I'm not used to this. Let's just be friends again” I said and she shook her head.

“Is that the best you could do?” She glared at me. Audrey is scary.

“Okay fine. I'm… I'm s..s.. sorry” I struggled to speak and she smirked.

“I know it was my fault. I lashed out for no reason and I caused a rift between us. I'm sorry” I said and she gasped.

“I'm so shocked Amelia. I can't believe you actually apologized, I thought you'd yell like you used to. Noah has really changed you, for the better” she said, smiling.

Noah changed me huh?

“I'm sorry too” she got up and hugged me. I hugged her back, burying my face in her shoulder. I missed her so much.. so f*cking much.

“I missed you. I miss our crazy nights out! And having someone to talk to” she said, now squeezing me in her hug. I struggled for breath and managed to free myself. We burst out laughing.

“Now, tell me all about this Noah guy. I can see that you like him” she winked, sitting down beside me. I rolled my eyes and giggled.

“So that means we are friends again?” I asked.

“No”

“We're best friends now!” She exclaimed. I was relieved. At least one thing is right in my life.

I feel bad for leaving Noah the way I did at the office, it's just my anxiety and unsure feelings. I don't know.. I hope he forgives me. And yes, I do like him.

“Has he asked you out?” Audrey grinned.

“Why are you so interested in him?” I asked.

“Nothing, he's cute and you're in love with him so tell me more” she blinked at me and I smiled.

I took a taxi to Amelia's house. It's been days, she's probably going to question me, or not.. because she hasn't called all this while.

Amelia doesn't have feelings for me, but maybe once I tell her about who she truly is… A hybrid, then she might change her mind.

I walked over to where the guards were standing to let them know I came to see Amelia when I saw a woman in black with a veil standing a reasonable distance away from the house.

My sixth sense told me that something was up with her so I decided to go and meet her.

“Hey, who are you? What are you doing here?” I asked. She lowered her head and sighed, she looked scared.

“Please, I want to see Amelia Lewis but I'm scared of those guards. I need to deliver a message to her” she answered in a whisper.

“Why do you want to see her? Who sent you?”

“Linda sent me”

“Linda? She's not in the house?”

“Please let me see her” she pleaded.

“I'm her boyfriend, tell me what happened to Linda and I'll let her know” I said and she gulped.

“Please don't tell anyone about me, don't let them know that I told you or they'll kill me. Please.. Linda is trapped by that monster and her only hope is me, I had to do it for her. Please tell Amelia to come and rescue her” she explained, sniffing.

I was stunned. Linda was kidnapped? Or what? How did so many things happen in such a short time?

“Take me to the house, I promise he won't hurt you” I said.

I can't involve Amelia, she might get hurt and besides, delay is dangerous.

“No, he'll kill you!” She said.

I scoffed.

“No mortal can harm me.. now, take me to Linda” I insisted and she stared at me through her veil.
