CHAPTER 13

CAFETERIA.

” Can you move something away from my face?” Mike said eating.

“What?” Angela replied smiling sheeplessly.

“Your eyes” Mike said and she grins.

” Mike do you know…I get a tummy full of butterflies whenever I'm with you”

“Have you been eating caterpillar?”

“No… you just make me lose my senses”

“Eat your food. Stop being a creep”

” If you're that worried then I will” she picked up her spoon whilst Mike scoff.

“Angela my angel!” Edward joined them together with Andrea.

“Oh no the kill Joy is here…” Angela mutters beneath her breathe.

“Angela now that you two are back together you don't know us anymore right? That's bad of you” Andrea chided Angela only smiles.

“Dear friend…I'm sorry how have you been?”

“Just perfectly fine…ever since someone dumped me”

“I'm sorry Andy… Mike just wanna spend some time with me alone” Angela said making Mike snapped his head at her.

“When did I ever say that?” He a

“Let's just assumed you did” Angela smiled back.

“Angel… you haven't given me your answer…what do you say to my proposal uh?”

“Eddie how would you like to be hit?” Angela asked politely.

“I would like if you hit me on the lips… with your lips” he winks while Angela spank him.

“Will you continue doing that? Edward let me get this straight…the next time you try what you did today in class I'm gonna skin you alive know that!” She pointed.

“Just date me already and stop playing hard to get”

“You really want to be hit uh?!”

“Uh. On the lips” he teased in return while Angela spank him again.

“I told you to stop that seriously…. it's too cheesy…I can't take it . It doesn't fit you Eddie. Stop”

“I will wait… for your answer” Edward said this time with seriousness while Angela only clear her throat.

“Suit yourself then…”she face her food.

DAYS LATER.

“How are you feeling now?” Angela asked Andrea as they walk out of the infirmary.

“Better…”

“Didn't you knew before?”

“Oh…I think it came early this time”

“Will you just go rest for now?”

“Oh no… it's not that bad… let's go”Andrea links hands with Angela as they chat going to the class.

“Angela?” A girl in the other class called.

“Me?”

“Aren't you Angela?”

“Yeah I am …but why? I don't think we have any relationship…I haven't talk to you before”

“Cut the shit Mike wants to meet you at the pool”

“Mikey?”

“He'll said he'll be waiting you should fast”

“But why? He could just_”

“Go ask him that… anyway I've delivered the message” the girl said taking her leave.

“What's wrong with her?” Andrea said glaring at the girl as she leaves.

“Andrea… you can go ahead… I'll go see Mike real quick” Angela said to Andrea taking her leave.

“Um…. don't be long!” Andrea shouted after her as she ran to the pool.

“She completely lose it whenever it comes to Mike” Andrea sneered going to the class.

CLASSROOM.

Mike closed his eyes as he rested his back on the chair with his head phone over his ear.

Edward came to him sitting on his desk.

He banged the desk to gain his attention but Mike wouldn't budge.

“Hey bro… let's talk” he said but Mike pretended not to hear him.

“Is this guy ignoring me or what? Hey” he removed the headphone and Mike finally opened his eyes.

“What do you want?” He asked dryly.

“What I want? Yeah… I'll tell you what I want… you I want you to stay away from Angela”

“She follows me around…say that to her”

” You…I'm still amazed as to how you could act like nothing happened…is it really not a big deal for you?”

“It is…but thanks to someone I'm getting over it”

“You… you really can't like a girl right?”

“Why? Do you like me?”

“What?”

“Sorry but I'm not interested…” Mike said shifting his back to a more comfortable position closing his eyes.

Edward scoff.

“I like Angela! What do you take me for?”

“A loser”

“What?”

“A loser who has nothing to do but to fool around” Mike said still closing his eyes.

“I really wanna pounce on you right now but I'm only holding it in cause of Angela”

“Please don't…I already told you I'm not interested. Find someone else”

“I SAID I DON'T LIKE YOU AM I CRAZY WHY WOULD I?” Edward groaned making the students look at them.

Mike opened his eyes.

“What do you want?”

“I want you to stay away from Angela”

“I don't want to”

“What? Why? But you don't like her”

“Are you scared? That I might like her…and probably steal her away?”

“What nonsense are you saying?”

“The nonsense you're saying”

“Look… remember you said you'll have nothing to do with her ”

“When did I ever said that? Ahhh… maybe I really did…so what? That was then”

“Then? Then?? Look then and now I don't care …I just don't wanna see you around her anymore”

“We'll see about that” Mike stood up.

“Don't think I'm bluffing…I'm being serious right now”

“We shall see…” Mike smirk patting his shoulder then head out of the classroom.

“What's wrong with that guy…? He's not probably thinking of…no! I have to make things clear… Mike! Mike!!” He went after him.

“Oh! Mike…why are you here?” Andrea asked on meeting Mike outside the classroom.

“What do you mean? I can't be here?”

“Not that…but Angela went to see you…. you asked her to meet you at the pool”

“Pool? When did I ever said that?”

“But… someone just came now and said you wanted…to…” She trailed off trying to get what was happening.

Suddenly she gasped.

“Shit!” Mike cussed running to the pool.

Edward came outside the classroom looking for Mike.

“I'm not done talking! Hey! Mike! Mik_aish! That lout…where is he?” Edward stood akimbo then look at Andrea.

“Hey have you seen Mike?”

“Ed… Angela…”

“What…?”

“To the pool…we have to go… hurry!” She took Edward's hand running to the pool with him.

“Hey what happened? What are you doing?” Edward asked confused as they ran.

AT THE POOL.

“You really gets on my nerves” Angela read a note left on the bench there.

“What the heck! Where's Mike?” She murmurs then heard some movements.

“Mik_”she tries to turn back but was rather pushed into the pool.

“AHH!” She screamed falling into the pool.

A minutes later Mike ran into the pool panting. He looks around but saw no signs of Angela.

Looking towards the pool he saw some bubbles that's when he realized Angela was in the pool.

“ANGELA!” He shrieked.

He ran towards the pool but then suddenly stops.

It was like something was holding him back. Whenever he tried to move he just can't do it. He couldn't move. It was like his feet was magnet to the ground. He watched as she there in the water but couldn't do anything.

“ANGELA!!” He heard Edward's voice and before he knew it a sudden splash was heard.

Edward dive into the water and bring her out.

“Oh my God!” Andrea gasped behind him rushing to her as well.

“Hey! Angela! Wake up! Angela! ” Edward slap her cheek repeatedly.

“Edward do something!” Andrea snapped at him.

“Shut up! Let me think” he snapped back.

Edward brought his hand to her chest and perform CPR.

He was about breathing air into her when Angela jerk up coughing water on his face.

“Angela!”

“Angela!”

Angela continue coughing and that cough turns to weeping.

She envelopes her arms around Edward weeping Andrea embrace her also and Mike just stood there watching them.

“Ed….wa…Rd…take me out of here…” She sobs as Edward and Andrea tries to console her.

Edward carried her in his arms and rushed her out of there together with Andrea.

Mike couldn't do anything. He only stood there without doing nothing.

AT THE INFIRMARY .

Some minutes later after Edward and Andrea left for class, Mike opened the door silently and took a peek at Angela who was lying on the bed her back facing her.

Mike was about closing the door to leave when he heard her voice.

“Are you just gonna leave?”

“You weren't sleeping?”

Mike asked and she sat up looking weak and pale.

“You should rest…I won't disturb you”

“Mikey… can you come over here for a minute?” She mutters and reluctantly he dragged his feet inside sitting on the bed with her.

“It was terrifying” she mutters

“I'm sorry” Mike apologize solemnly and Angela looks at him who keeps his head down.

“For not doing anything…” He completed.

” I'm sorry…” Angela said making him look at her.

“For making you sorry” she completed.

“Angela i_”

“I know…if I were in your position I wouldn't be able to do anything either… I'll probably run away” she said and Mike just keep silent.

“It happened when I was 14…. before Christmas… for three years now I couldn't get over it. I developed a phobia for it and I couldn't… conquer it”

“You should rest… I'll check up on you later”

“But why did you wanna see me there?”

“See you? Right… Andrea said the same thing…I never called you there”

“Really? Then what was that? And that note too…”

“It must be a prank… figures… you must have done something stupid again”

“You sound like I go around causing trouble”

“Just rest..” he stood up.

“But who'll do something that horrible?”

“Don't think about anything for now… I'll see you later” he heads for the door.

“Mikey” she called stopping him.

“Don't miss me too much…” She said making Mike sneer.

“See you” he left and Angela sighs.

LATER CLOSING.

“I'm really okay…I can go home myself” Angela said for the umpteenth time.

“No you're not… just listen to me okay? I'm taking you home” Edward affirms.

“Are you leaving?” Mike asked joining them.

“What do you want? You don't think I forgot earlier…I'm still gonna deal with you” Edward pointed at him.

“I already said he's not at fault. What's wrong with you seriously Edward?”

“Stop defending him…if I hadn't come in earlier who knows what would have happened to you… even if he couldn't save you he should have at least called for help but he stood there like a lifeless zombie”

“Just forget about it already”

“I'll take you home” Mike said but Edward stopped him.

“Why would you do that? I'm taking her home back off!”

“Edward can you stop talking already you're giving me headache”

“Oh Angel sorry…was I too loud?”

“I'll take her home” Mike held her wrist.

“And I already said I would…Mike you just scram…we don't need you now or ever!”

“Do you know her house? I do I can just drop her it's in my neighborhood”

“She can just tell me her house and I save her it's only right I complete my task by taking her home that way I'll have rest of mind. I can't trust someone like you you know…who knows what might happen if I leave her with you again”

“Edward… just stop! Stop you two! I'm fine I'll go home myself! You're seriously giving me headache. You two back off! ” Angela pointed at the leaving.

“Scram…”Edward mutters to Mike following Angela while Mike just tuck his hands in his pockets following them.

ANGELA'S HOUSE.

“Thanks for dropping me home… you two can leave now”

“You should go in” Mike said.

“We'll leave after you go in” Edward added.

“Then see you guys tomorrow.” She waves them goodbye heading in but then Abby came outside before she could go in.

“I knew it. I recognized that voice. Handsome hi” she grins at Mike.

“Oh! There's another handsome here” she smiles at Edward.

“What a luck this brat has…there aren't handsome lads in my school like this”

“Hi… Abby”Mike greeted.

“Come in you two” Abby pulled them in by their hands not giving them a chance to refuse.

“Mom… where're you? Your daughter brought some young lads home for you!” She shouted while Angela just shook her head. She has no strength to argue with her tonight.

“Hey guys” Mrs Antony smiles at them as she descends the stairs.

“Hello ma” Mike greeted.

“Mo… mother! Hello mother!” Edward greeted loud enough like soldier bowing making miss Antony chuckles. Angela face palmed.

“Edward darling eat more vegetables it'll be good for you”

“Yes ma!”

“Angel…eat some” he gave her some while Angela just nodded.

“Edward you have something on your face” Abby said.

“Oh really… what's that?” He touched his face

“Handsomeness “Abby grinned while Angela slap her back.

“Stop that it's so corny seriously” Angela crunch her face.

“What's wrong with it? I'm just being honest… Eddie I like you. You're exactly my type. I have a good job for you wanna do it?”

“What is it and what will I get in return?” Edward asked interested.

“Date me and gain this incredible girl” she gesture to herself.

Mrs Antony just smiles shaking her head.

“Sorry but I already have a job like that and I don't wanna let it go”

“For who?”

“My angel… Angela”he smiles looking at Angela.

“You again! Are you sent to ruin my love or what? What are you? My love enemy?”

“Until when were you hovering around Mike now it's him?”.

“I had to gave Mike up for you since you were being pitiful…now him?!”

“Just eat your food …” Angela said unintrested.

“Hope you guys are enjoying the food?” Mrs Antony asked.

“Yes ma” Mike and Edward chorused.

“It's so appetite” Edward grins giving her a thumb up.

“You mean appetizing?” Mike corrected and Edward just fake a laugh.

“You're funny” Mrs Antony shook her head.

LATER.

“Thank you for today ma… we'll get going now” Mike said at the door post.

“I really enjoyed your food ma and will surely come back for another someday” Edward grins

“Yeah…I would love to have you guys back here”

“Bye handsome…hey cutie dream of me. And think about the job. It's really favourable for you” Abby smiles while Edward smiles back.

“But where's Angela?” He asked .

“We'll get going now…bye” they turns to leave but Angela called Mike back running to him.

“What is it?”

“Here” she stretched a whiny necklace to him which he collect.

“This is my…”

“You remember when we first met? You dropped it then. I wanted to return it at school but you're being a jerk so I forgot to return it till now”

“It was with you…I thought I lost it” he looks at the necklace with emotion.

“I'm sorry… for taking this long”

“Thank you Angela”

“But is this some kind of fly?” Edward asked looking at it.

“It's a butterfly…a mother butterfly. A baby is supposed to be here” he touched a place. My mom had the baby one while I have the mother but I couldn't find the other one anymore.

“You know I have a necklace like this also” Angela said.

“What do you mean you? It's mine but you stole it” Abby said

Angela touch her neck for the necklace but couldn't find it.

“Oh!”

“What?”

“It's gone. The necklace…. it's gone! It's no more here”

“Did you lost it?! That's why I told you not to touch my things!”Abby lashed at her.

“Mikey…I can't find it” she said worried.
