🌼 Amelia Lewis 🌼

I had my house repainted and redecorated. I can't live in a house covered with black paint and furniture. I'm throwing a party, inviting all my business partners and higher employees. I have to do something, something I should have done a long time ago.

“Put those up immediately. We don't have much time. Everyone's coming in the next hour” I said to the florist who just arrived with the flowers I ordered.

The twins were making all the food, they're super talented when it comes to that. Audrey was putting my dress together, I can't wait to see what she comes up with, she's an amazing designer. Noah went out to send out the last minute invitations and I'm overseeing everything.

“Cous! Can you come here for a minute?” Lisa called. I entered the kitchen and she presented a plate of small chops to me.

“Can you taste this and tell if it's good” she said and handed me a fork. I ate a few and nodded.

“Mmmh. Mmmh. This is delicious!” I said, taking the whole plate from her.

“Make more, plenty more” I said, leaving the kitchen with the plate.

“Babe” Noah called, walking through the front door.

“Did you send out all the invitations?” I asked.

“Yes I did. They were all willing to attend” he said and I smiled. I put a bit of the snack in his mouth and he ate it, nodding.

“This is really good” he said and I giggled.

“Oh and baby, I heard Peter has been detained by the police” he said and I gasped.

“Oh that's such a relief” I said. I'm so happy that he won't be bothering us anymore. That man is a complete d!ck.

“Anyways, I'm going upstairs to check if Audrey is done with my dress” I said, handing him the plate.

“Okay, I'll supervise down here” he said and kissed his cheek before going upstairs.

“Hi bestie. Are you done yet?” I asked, entering the room. She was with Isabella, making my dress. Apparently, Isabella is her best designer and I couldn't stop her from coming here. I glared at her and she looked away. The fool knows that she's not invited to my party, as soon as she's done with my dress, she's leaving immediately.

“Yes, your dress is ready for you to test out” Audrey said, leaving the way and allowing me to get full view of the dress. I gasped at it. It was so gorgeous. A red hot gown with an attached cape. It was off the hook and I'm totally going to stun in it.

“Omg! Audrey, this is so beautiful!! Thank you so much” I shrieked, admiring it.

“Couldn't have done it without Isabella” Audrey smiled. I frowned at Isabella and huffed.

“Whatever. Just pay her and let her be on her way” I said and she nodded.

Since the party is almost starting, Audrey decided to dress me up and do my makeup as well. I couldn't wait to see the look of Noah's face when he sees me tonight.

…

I could already hear the music from downstairs, and the chattering from the guests. The party has already started and I heard the media and paparazzi are here as well. This is totally going to get viral.

“You're ready!” Audrey said in excitement as she handed me a mirror to look at myself.

I gasped.

“Audrey!! You have magical hands! I look fantastic” I said, commending her talent. She giggled and helped me get up. She was already dressed, in a killer black short gown.

We walked down the hallway and stopped right by the staircase. She ran to inform the dj of my arrival.

“Ladies and gentlemen! If I may have your attention. Permit me to bring in, our host for tonight, the beautiful, Amelia Lewis!” He announced and I took a deep breath before walking down the stairs.

Everyone was staring at me, getting me nervous. I turned to look at Noah, he was stuffing his face with cupcakes and his mouth hung open when he saw me…gross.

I winked at him as soon as I reached the foot of the stairs.

“Congratulations Amelia. We missed you at the office” Mr Baker, one of my directors said, handing me a bouquet. I thanked him and waved at the cameras flashing their lights at me. They took various photos before I finally got to go and meet Noah.

“You look gorgeous” he said, kissing my cheek. I blushed and smiled at him.

“You look nice too. But you eat too much” I said and he dropped the cupcake in his hand. I couldn't help but laugh.

“I'm about to give my speech” I informed, rubbing my palms together.

“You're gonna do great” he encouraged.

Soon, the dj called me on stage to give my speech and I hugged Noah before going up on the stage with the spotlight on me. Everywhere was dead silent, waiting for me to speak.

“Good evening everyone, first of all, I want to thank you all for honouring my invitation on such short notice. I'm also grateful that all my things are now mine again” I paused and they gave a short applause.

“Secondly, I would like to give a public apology. To everyone I've hurt, either physically or abused with my words. I'm sorry from the depth of my heart and hope that you all will accept that I am changed” I said and they all looked stunned, especially my employees. I'm pretty sure they never expected it.

“I am giving all my employees a raise in their salary, and also giving some money to charity, which I've never done before. I'm open to new ideas and suggestions from my workers and don't mind criticism either. Yes, Amelia Lewis is a changed person” I concluded and they room exploded in applause.

I waved at them before stepping down to meet Noah, Audrey and the twins. They all hugged me and congratulated me.

The party started and everyone had enough to eat and drink. I was with Audrey and Noah, talking and taking alcohol shots when she signalled me to look behind. I turned and saw Zack.. omg!!

“Zack!! My goodness! Where have you been!?” I jumped on him and hugged him tight. He looked sad, very sad.

“Hi Amelia. Congrats on your victory, I'm sorry I wasn't around to help. It's just that something came up” he sighed tiredly.

“I hope there's no problem” I said.

“Come upstairs with me. All of you, please” he said.

Okay now I'm scared, but we all followed him upstairs.

“Alright, here's what happened. There's a plague.. it's growing, every single day. My mother is at the verge of dying and we've all lost our powers. All magical beings have lost their powers. Well, except for you, since you're a hybrid. Well, now we need your help. I don't know how to say this” he paused and stared at me. I was already getting tensed up.

“My help?”

“Yes Amy. You're the only one who can help us. You possess unique powers which can return stability to Fye. I can train you to use them. But the only way that can happen is if you become my queen.. only the queen can take up such position” he said and my jaw dropped.

“What rubbish!! Are you saying that you're going to get married to my girlfriend?!” Noah sprang up, I just sat there in shock.

“Calm down Noah. I promise it's not my intention to take her away from you, but I don't have any choice. She's the chosen queen” Zack said.

“Nonsense! That's never going to happen, find a new queen! I'll never let you take her from me!” Noah growled and walked away in anger.

“Noah..” I called weakly as tears rolled down my cheeks. Today is supposed to be a happy occasion.. what is this now?

“Amelia, I understand how you must be feeling. I was devastated when I found out that you're in love with Noah, but I was ready to let you go, until this plague happened. You have to save my people, your mother's people” he said, kneeling in front of me. This is just too much.

“But I don't want to marry you” I muttered.

“I know, do it for the thousands of my subjects that are dying every minute. Do it for your late mother.. if you don't, my mother and even I will d!e and fade away. I'm sorry if I sound selfish but please, millions of lives depend on you” he said, holding my hand.

Oh my..

How can I leave Noah behind? I've grown to love him so much. But wouldn't it be selfish of me to let so many people d!e simply because I'm in love??

I am so confused.

“Please Amy, I'm begging you to save my people” he continued to plead.

I closed my eyes and screamed inside my head.

“I need help! I need help!!” I screamed inside my head, with tears already soaking my dress.

“Honey” I heard a voice in my head. It sounds like my mother, I remember her voice, she was my best friend.

“Mom? Is that you? Where are you?” I asked, still crying.

“Honey, please don't cry anymore. I know you're in a difficult position. But I also know that you can do this, it seems hard but everything will be alright” she said in her very soft voice.

“What do I do mom?”

“Do the right thing.. you know what that is. Do the right thing my dear” she answered, her voice faded slowly until it completely disappeared.

I opened my eyes immediately and stared at Zack. His eyes were filled with sorrow and grief, he's very hurt. Should I accept to be his queen? What about my Noah?

What is the right thing!?

No! This can't be happening. Why now? Why me? Why do they want to take Amelia away from me?

I paced angrily on the balcony, scratching my head. I was already losing my mind. How do they expect me to just hand over Amelia to them just like that? This isn't fair, she's my girlfriend!!

“Noah? Are you okay?” Audrey asked, joining me on the balcony.

“Obviously not” I snapped.

“I understand how you feel. But you have to understand that this is her calling. She's not completely human, we should have all seen this coming” she stated and I sighed.

“But why now? Why does it have to be now that I've fallen deeply in love with her? Why couldn't it have been when we hated each other?” I cried out, almost moved to tears.

“Calm down” she held my shoulder.

“It's difficult I know, but would you feel good knowing that millions of lives are being lost and Amelia is with you when she could be saving them?” She asked and got me thinking.

She's right, I won't be happy. Amelia is one of the best things to happen to me. I'm devastated at this news. I really don't want to lose her after suffering to get her, but she has to save many people.

“Audrey I..”

“Do you love her?”

“More than anything”

“I'm sure you're familiar with the saying, if you love something, you've got to let it go. Let her go, let her be the savior she was destined to be. You played your role in her life by changing her to a better human being, now it's time for her to play her part in other people's lives. Not all soulmates come into our lives to stay forever. Some come for a purpose and leave.. others end up together” she explained meekly and I found myself agreeing with her.

Amelia is lucky to have a friend like her.

“I.. I need to see her first” I said and she nodded. I went back into the room and met her in tears, she looked up at me and burst into even more tears.

Oh.. my heart, it just broke.
