EPISODE 33

Ariel sat there watching him, at a loss for words. She had no idea how to react or what to say. He just confessed his love for her! How on earth was she supposed to react to that? After everything he did to her and how badly he treated her? She just watched him with tears in her eyes.

“I know you probably don't know what to say right now and I won't hold that against you. I have to go now, I'll see you when I come home” he sighed and kissed her forehead before hurrying off. Miguel was relieved that he finally confessed his feelings to Ariel, at least if he died now, he'd be satisfied.

He got into his car and drove to the destination where Jerry was supposedly staying. He didn't inform anyone of his whereabouts, only Ariel. He didn't even take any guards or any of his men along with him.

Miguel got to the building and scanned the perimeter with his eyes, making sure there were no threats before he got down from his car. He corked his gun and put a silencer over the nozzle before walking in as stealthily as possible. He sighted one guard at the front, moving around, probably patrolling and immediately shot him down. Another one showed up behind him but he gunned him down as well.

He proceeded into the main house but heard voices inside. One of the voices sounded very familiar. He peeped into the room through the key hole and saw Jerry talking to a woman in a black cloak, her voice was familiar but Miguel couldn't remember exactly where he'd heard the voice.

He kicked the door open and Jerry flinched, the woman who was with him suddenly disappeared without a trace. Miguel looked around, searching for her but she was nowhere in sight. He wondered how she was able to escape so fast, she had to be an expert.

“Look who finally found me” Jerry chuckled.

“Why are you laughing? I have my gun pointed to your head, you should be pleading” Miguel scoffed.

“I will never beg or bow to you Miguel.. I would rather die” Jerry spat. He knew he was defenceless, he knew that Miguel would kill him, but he would never surrender, he would never die as a coward.

“Where are all your guards?” Miguel asked, expecting some competition at least. He wasn't expecting killing Jerry to be so easy.

“I came back to Mexico to find Ariel, I never expected you to find me” he shook his head and Miguel scoffed.

“You've caused my family and clan so much problems Jerry, you kidnapped my love and my unborn baby, for that, I'll have to grant your wish of letting you die” Miguel said in anger and corked his gun, ready to shoot.

“Go ahead and do it” Jerry urged, even smiling. He was a hardened man.

“You're such a d!ck” Miguel said before pressing the trigger. The bullet went right through Jerry's heart, he groaned and staggered backwards. Miguel shot him several more times in the same place until he fell and closed his eyes.

“Rest in pieces motherf*cker” Miguel spat before he started getting rid of all the possible evidence that the police might find when they come to the scene. After cleaning up his tracks, he started heading home, extremely happy that he had fulfilled his father's wish.

★★ MIGUEL'S MANSION ★★

Ariel heard a knock on the door and went to answer it, thinking it was Sally because they planned to meet and talk that night. To her surprise, she met Xander standing by the door, staring at her with mixed emotions.

“Xander.. it's you” she said, letting him into the room.

“Did I do something wrong to you?” Xander asked, stroking his chin with one hand as the other rested on his waist.

“I don't understand. You did nothing wrong” Ariel shrugged.

“Then why are you doing this to me? Your plan was to make Miguel feel the pain he's put you through, but instead of that, you two are getting closer! He is madly in love with you and I can see you feel the same way about him” Xander complained bitterly, already tears were gathering in his eyes. Ariel bit her lip sadly and sighed.

She had no idea what to do anymore. She really liked and admired Xander, he was her first friend and best friend, but Miguel.. he's doing things to her that she has gotten addicted to.

“Look Xander, Miguel will be home soon, he's going to be mad if he finds you in here and I don't want you two to get into a fight” Ariel said, looking worried and confused.

“F*ck him!! I don't care anymore! Ariel, I am crazy about you! I can't imagine living without you! I cannot bear to see you live with another man! I'll die!” He screamed, grabbing her arms. She was moved to tears, looking into his sincere eyes.

“I'm really sorry for hurting your feelings Xander but the truth is, I don't know what I want anymore” she sniffed, regretting everything.

“But I want you Ariel! All you have to do is say yes to me and I'll take you away from here, I don't mind raising the child! I just want you with me” he cried, still holding her tight, almost hurting her.

“Xander please..let go” Ariel whimpered.

“I'm really sorry about this but just let me go” she continued.

“Tell me you love me Ariel!!” Xander screamed, he was already out of his mind. Just thinking about Miguel and Ariel together made him gag. He couldn't stand the thought!

“Stop it!!” Ariel yelled at him but he did not stop, instead he attempted to kiss her. He pulled her closer by her waist, although her big baby bump was in the way. He forcefully crashed his lips on hers, kissing her like there was no tomorrow. Ariel did not reciprocate, instead she fought her way out of his grip and pushed him away.

“Stop it! This isn't how love works!!” She fired, wiping her lips and surrounding areas. Xander was heartbroken, he could already tell that Ariel might not be his.

“So how does it work then?” He asked.

“I don't know but I know it's not like this!” She answered, her voice already shaky from all the yelling.

“You don't love me?” He asked, she sighed and turned away. Xander chuckled and left her room in a hurry. Ariel couldn't stop crying, because of her, a good heart like Xander's had been shattered.

Later that night, Miguel came home and met Ariel sobbing on the bed, she refused to tell him what the truth was, she only claimed that it was pregnancy hormones that was making her emotional. Miguel broke the news of Jerry's death to her and she was happy to hear that he was finally out of the way.

“Aren't you going to be in trouble with the police?” She asked, worried.

“Don't worry about that. I can't make such silly mistakes” he bragged and Ariel giggled.

“You've taken your medicine right?” He asked and she nodded.

“Go to bed then, it's very late” he kissed her and she blushed. Ariel couldn't figure out what exactly was wrong with her. She doubted that it was love because how on earth is she supposed to love someone who had her little brother in captivity and also r@ped and abused her? It doesn't make any sense, the anger and hate she used to feel for him have suddenly vanished and she couldn't understand why.

The next morning, Ariel woke up due to the noise coming from outside the room. It sounded like two people arguing and it disturbed her sleep.

“What's going on?” She asked, rubbing her eyes. She got down from the bed and walked to the door, leaned on it to listen.

“How can you leave? We've been together forever! So how can you just wake up and decide to leave?” Miguel's voice sounded. Ariel wondered who was leaving.

“You're the one who pushed me to it Miguel. You're selfish and greedy, you knew I was in love with Ariel, are you going to say that you didn't see the signs? But still, you claimed her for yourself! You have everything, including my loyalty, but you couldn't let me be happy” Xander explained in anger and grief.

Ariel started shedding tears again. She felt bad to be the reason why two friends were at each other's necks. She opened the door and stepped out, they both turned to her.

“You don't have to leave the clan Xander, please. You don't have to end your friendship because of me!” She cried.

“I've already made up my mind, I can't stay and watch you in another man's arms” Xander answered and stared at her for long before looking away. He left to his room and started putting his things together.

Ariel glared at Miguel and entered the room, banging the door in his face.

Miguel followed her into the room, where she was still sobbing. He sat next to her and touched her shoulder, then proceeded to rub her back lovingly.

“I know this is all my fault, but I couldn't stop myself from falling for you Ariel..” he stated, moving closer to her.

“Ariel, I honestly don't want you to be with another man, please just forgive me and love me back. I'll go crazy without you, I almost went mad when Jerry had you for eight months. Please forgive me, and love only me” he pouted, touching her thigh. Ariel looked at him but didn't say a word, she climbed the bed and closed her eyes.
